About
My name is Thomas Todd, and it is my passion to develop a unique and individualized therapeutic experience with every client. I graduated from Missouri State University with a master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling as well as a bachelor's in Christian Ministry from John Brown University. I practice counseling using the Integrative Therapy approach in which I view all separate forms of therapy as a tool that can be used determined upon the criteria presented by the client. I have worked with a variety of ages but specialize in working with teenagers and young adults. Adolescent Therapy
The teenage years are challenging, not just for the teen, but for the parent(s) as well. Having worked with adolescents through a coaching, youth pastor, and counselor role, I can provide a variety of helpful methods to work with them through their needs. Parent support is also something that is provided in order to create the healthiest possible support system.
Sports Therapy
Whether recovering from an injury, pursuing college sports, or trying to overcome a mental roadblock, AIM Counseling can provide a secure space equipping one with the tools they need to take their athletic experience to the next level.
Anxiety Therapy
Anxiety can be debilitating. The fear of past decisions, the thoughts of future problems coming up, and not knowing how to handle the thoughts that race through our mind make it a very scary place to be. Using CBT and mindfulness techniques, I work with clients to quiet their thoughts to a more manageable level so that therapy can play a part of creating a healthier sense of control.

Depression can make it difficult to enjoy life and engage in activities you once loved. Using evidence backed therapeutic techniques, we will dive into the source of the depression to work through the difficulties it brings.
Relationship Counseling
Relationships are an important part of our lives, but they can also be challenging. Whether dating, premarital, or marital counseling, I use the Gottman method to reestablish the important pillars that help relationships stand tall. Focusing on trust, commitment, and communication, the Gottman method can help relationships that struggle with the ability to talk and rely on one another. Whether facing divorce, a breakup, or working through the daily stressors of being in a relationship, therapy can provide a unique outside source to work on your partnership.
Stress Management
Stress is a natural part of life, but when it becomes overwhelming, it can have a negative impact on our mental and physical health. Using mindfulness and mediation techniques, we will rediscover a healthier way to live so that stress does not keep you from being able to live to your fullest extent.

Having worked as a youth pastor as well as having a degree in Christian Ministries, it is a passion of mine to work with individuals and couples that are seeking counseling services in accordance with a theological perspective.
